CANNELTON - Cannelton City Schools preschool through high-school students participated in an annual science fair April 9 at the Cannelton Community Center.
Those in fifth and lower grades showcased class projects, while older students were judged on individual and small-group projects on various types of scientific studies, according to Joan Goble, a third-grade teacher who said projects included recycling paper, water studies, sound travel, airplane flight and more.
The keynote presenter was science educator Brad Reynolds, whose presentation was titled "Exotic, Aquatic and Backyard Creatures."
"He uses real animals and technology to make science come alive for the students," Goble said. "Highlights of his presentation included a tarantula, a hissing cockroach and several snakes, turtles and lizards."
