CANNELTON - A board "semi-exists" to oversee the city's community center, Cannelton Mayor Smokey Graves said during a regular meeting of the city's common council Feb. 9, "and with it in place, we can't make any decisions."
He was responding to a question from Councilman John Young III about whether any action had been taken toward charging fees for the facility's use.
Grant funding to build it carried a prohibition against charging fees, but it expired in December.
