CANNELTON—Cannelton took its first lead of the game in overtime as it defeated New Harmony 37-35 in girls basketball Saturday.
The Bulldogs outscored New Harmony 15-4 in the fourth quarter to tie the score. “We pressed them quite a bit,” said Cannelton Coach Jeff Miller.
Freshman Sammie James hit two free throws with 1.6 seconds left in regulation to tie the score and send the game into overtime.
Jaci Garrett and Nakaa Myers hit field goals in overtime to give the Bulldogs the lead. Garrett later added two free throws to preserve the lead.
