CANNELTON - The Cannelton Heritage Festival will be held Saturday on Washington Street in Cannelton. A full schedule of activities is planned with food and vendor booths opening at 10 a.m.
Several local musicians will perform throughout the day, featuring folk, blues, contemporary and original music.
Children's activities include pumpkin painting, games and face painting.
The Perry County Courthouse Museum, along with local churches, businesses and schools, will be open for tours. Guided walking historic and haunted-history tours will also be offered.
New this year is a wine garden with local wineries Blue Heron Vineyards and Winzerwald Winery, plus regional wineries Best Vineyards, Carousel Winery, Ferrin's Fruit Winery, Indian Creek Winery, Turtle Run Winery and Windy Knoll Winery offering wine tastings. The wine garden will be open the duration of the festival. Admission is $6 and guests must be 21 or older to enter.
Artisans and craftsmen will demonstrate their skills and hand-poured candles, soaps, and jewelry and many more crafts will be available for purchase.
An estimated crowd of 2,000 people attended last year's festival. The committee hopes to build upon the success with the day's new features and more artisans and craftsmen.
The festival lasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. People interested in having a food or arts and craft booth should contact Brandi Hess at 836-4329 or e-mail email@example.com.
Booth rentals are $10 and items should be handmade.
