PERRY COUNTY - The Perry County Chamber of Commerce and participating businesses are proud to announce this year's Christmas Cash Giveaway.
To win, shoppers must register at one of the participating merchants until Dec. 19 to win chamber gift certificates.
The promotion is intended to encourage local shopping over the holiday season and give local residents some extra shopping money compliments of local businesses. The total cash to be given away this year is $1,600.
There will be a winner from each participating location each week.
Last week's winners were Kristina Gayer, Betty Heavrin, Ed Ress, Darlene Wilson, Caroline Ballman, Kenny Shulaw, Veda Knable, Cora Palmer, Darla Groves, Barbara Cooper, Marshall Terry, Vergie Hubert, Irvin Rothgerber, Connie Graham and Steven Southwood.
Participating businesses are Bear Hollow Wood Carvers, Celebrations, Everbody's Fun & Fitness, Fifth Third Bank, First State Bank, Fischer's Furniture & Appliance, Hauenstein's, Lauer Floral, Marian's Hallmark Card & Gift, McDonald's, Noble's IGA, Old National Bank, The Perry County News, Roland's Jewelry, Tassels Fine Gifts and Wal-Mart.
These certificates are also available for sale at the Chamber office free of charge in any denomination and may be used for purchases at the following Perry County businesses: Bear Hollow Wood Carvers, Bill & Dave's Smokin' Pit, Bright Beginnings, Capers, Charlie's Auto Parts, Culligan Water Conditioning, Day's Inn, Fifth Third Bank, Finley's, First State Bank, Fischer's Furniture & Appliance, Gatherings, Hauenstein's, Lauer Floral, Maurices, Noble's IGA, Ohio River Cabins, Ramada Inn, Roland's Jewelry, ServiceMaster of Tell City, Skinsations, Tassels Fine Gifts, Thriftway Home Center, Wal-Mart, Werner Drug Store and Winzerwald Winery.
This year more than $10,000 in retail sales was kept in the county through the program. Chamber members can call 547-2385 to have their business added to the list.
