WHITESVILLE, Ky.—Cannelton played its best defense of the season, committing only one error, but gave up 17 hits in a 14-4 baseball loss to Whitesville Trinity Saturday.
The Raiders scored seven runs in the fourth inning to take control.
“We had a couple of bang-bang plays where we didn’t get the call that inning,” said Cannelton Coach Mike Garrett.
“One was a force out at second—the umpire said Sierra (Alvarez, Cannelton’s second baseman) pulled her foot off the bag, but the runner was really out.
