CANNELTON—Nakaa Myers scored 19 points as Cannelton crushed New Harmony 61-38 in girls basketball Friday.

Myers hit 8 of 14 from the field, including 3 of 4 from three-point range.

She scored 10 points in the third quarter on two three-pointers and two field goals just inside the arc as the Bulldogs outscored the Rappites 26-8 to take control.

“This was probably the best game we’ve played all year,” said Cannelton Coach Jeff Miller.

“We were moving the ball well,” he added. “We had sharp passes—we had 14 assists.

“We committed only two turnovers in the first half and 12 for the game, which is definitely a plus for us. And we didn’t allow them that many second and third shots.”

Sarah Powers scored 15 points and Payton Reed 10 to back Myers.

Myers, Reed, Brooke Powers and Sammie James each grabbed five rebounds.

Myers and Brooke Powers each had four assists and Jaci Garrett made five steals.

Ambra Williams led 1-12 New Harmony with 14 points.

Cannelton, 5-10, will visit Rock Creek Christian Friday at 5:30 p.m.
