COLUMBUS—Melissa Clausen handled the ball well and hit 4 of 6 free throws in the last two minutes as shorthanded Cannelton held off Columbus Christian 52-42 in girls basketball Saturday.
Columbus Christian, with four new girls on its roster this year, shot well early and jumped to a quick lead.
Behind Mikah Hemmings’ 29 points and Allicyn Garrett’s 18 rebounds, Cannelton came back, though, eventually building a 12-point lead with four minutes left in the game.
