A Tell City teenager was hospitalized with serious injuries Monday morning after his bicycle collided with a truck on Franklin Street, city police said.

According to Sgt. Lynn Wooldridge, Tyler J. Fuentes, 14, of 740 33rd St., suffered injuries to his head and legs and was flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Police said Fuentes was traveling north of 14th Street and failed to yield to a pickup driven east on Franklin Street. Wooldridge said the driver of the truck, Clarence Cronin Jr., 59, of 1348 19th St., didn't see the teen until he struck the side of his truck. Fuentes was thrown from the bicycle and was found lying in the street. Perry County EMS, Tell City police, the Perry County Sheriff's Department and first responders assisted at the scene.
