LYNNVILLE—Cannelton couldn’t get its spiking attack going as it lost to Tecumseh 25-9, 25-5, 25-9 in the first round of Tecumseh’s Class A volleyball sectional Saturday.

“We had more dropped balls (20) than we’d had all year and we also had 20 free balls,” noted Cannelton Coach Felicia Myers. “Of course we didn’t get a chance to set the ball up much.”
Allicyn Garrett led Bulldog spikers with just two kills. Taylor Lawalin made 18 sets.
Garrett and Mikah Hemmings each served one ace. Hemmings made five digs and Melissa Clausen added four.
Brook Blankenship made two saves and Jordyn Vogt made a block.
Cannelton finished the season with a 2-17 record.
