Boonville outruns TC girls

TELL CITY—Tiffany Davis, Elizabeth Kohnert and Katlyn Braunecker each won two individual events but Tell City lost to Boonville 65-58 in girls track Thursday.

Tell City won nine of the 15 events but lost because of a lack of depth.

Davis set a personal record as she won the 1600-meter run in 5:33. Sarah Goffinet placed second in 6:01 and Brittany Waninger third in 6:34 as Tell City swept all three places in the 1600.

Davis won the 800 in 2:41.21 and Waninger placed third in 2:56.9.

Goffinet won the 3200 in 12:45.42 and Mariah Nix placed third in 15:27.

Davis, Nix, Waninger and Goffinet won the 3200 relay in 11:25 as the Marksmen dominated the distance races.

Kohnert won the 400 in 1:05.94 and the high jump by clearing 4 feet, 10 inches.

She took third in the long jump at 14 feet, 2 inches.

Braunecker won the 100 in 13.59 and the 200 in 29.07.

Kayla Galloway won the discus with a 100-foot-3 throw and Devon Lott was third at 85-8.

Galloway placed second in the shot put at 28 feet, 7 inches and Lott took third at 27-10.

Courtney Young placed third in the 400 in 1:07.94.

Tell City finished the regular season 12-12-1.

The Marksmen will compete in the PAC meet at Gibson Southern Tuesday. Field events and the 3200 relay will start at 5:30 p.m.

Trials in the sprints will start at 6 p.m., with the finals at 7 p.m.
