Boonville defeats Marksmen 4-1

TELL CITY—Anjan Kashyab won in No. 1 singles but Boonville won the other four matches in straight sets to beat Tell City 4-1 in boys tennis Monday.

Kashyab defeated Preston Alstadt 7-5, 6-4 in the closest match of the meet.

Brad Alstadt beat Greg Hollinden 6-2, 6-1 in No. 2 singles and Zach Green beat Trent Wheatley 6-0, 6-4 in No. 3.

In No. 1 doubles Drew Shoulders and Ben Broadhead beat Christopher Kohnert and Mike Richmer 6-3, 6-0.

Paul Foley and Jeremy Lipking beat Nathan Ramsey and Patrick Hagedorn 6-3, 6-4 in the other doubles match.

Jacob Miller played two one-set reserve matches for the Marksmen, falling 6-4 to Keith Lipking and 6-0 to Daniel Whitfield.

Castle did not show up for its scheduled match with Tell City Tuesday.

Tell City, 2-7, will visit Southridge Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
