TELL CITY – The Perry County Redevelopment Authority approved jail-construction bills totaling $731,213.98 in a meeting Wednesday.
They OK’d the payment of two invoices from the DLZ architectural-engineering consulting firm of Indianapolis totaling $13,430.81 and one from the H.J. Umbaugh and Associates accounting firm, also of Indianapolis, for $1,332.59. County Administrator Teresa Kanneberg said Umbaugh provides investing services for the nearly $12 million earmarked for the facility.
A retainage fee of $47,451.24 was withheld from a $763,901.82 bill submitted by Craftsman Construction of Huntingburg before the three-member redevelopment authority approved it.
In response to a question from member Pam Krygielka, Kanneberg said spending so far had mounted to just over $3 million. Floors were being poured, with the roughing-in of some electrical components occurring simultaneously, she said, and interior masonry walls were to rise from the site soon.
While Krygielka noted “we have not had a stretch of good weather,” Kanneberg said no reason existed to suggest the builder was not on schedule.
The redevelopment-authority members plan to meet again at 8 a.m. June 12 in the county courthouse.
