Beach's successor at Forest Park won’t find it a walk on the beach

-A A +A
By Larry Goffinet

Tom Beach told the media that his decision to leave Forest Park to become Shelbyville’s basketball coach has nothing to do with the fact that Perry Nash, Beach’s future son-in-law and one of his assistants, is in danger of not having his teaching contract renewed.

Many in Dubois County do not believe that.

It is possible that Beach, 51, wanted a new challenge at a larger school, though he is taking on a new coaching position at an age when most coaches are getting ready to get out of that profession.
