INDIANAPOLIS - Tell City and Cannelton drew first-round byes but Perry Central will have to go the long route to win its boys basketball sectional next week.
Pairings for all 64 sectionals in the state were drawn by the IHSAA Sunday evening.
Perry Central and Tell City will compete in the Class 2A sectional that will once again be held at Huntingburg Memorial Gym (though Forest Park is the designated host, as Southridge now competes in Class 3A).
Perry Central will play Forest Park in the first game of that six-team sectional Tuesday at 6 p.m. (all times listed are Perry County times).
That will be followed by North Posey vs. Mater Dei at approximately 7:40 p.m.
That night's winners will meet in the first semifinal game at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29.
That will be followed by Tell City vs. South Spencer in the second semifinal at approximately 7:40 p.m.
The championship game will be 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1.
Cannelton will play in a five-team Class A sectional at Wood Memorial.
Tecumseh, which has won that sectional the last nine years, will face Wood Memorial Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the only game that night.
Cannelton will play the winner of that game in the semifinals Friday, Feb. 29, at approximately 7:40 p.m., after New Harmony meets Evansville Day at 6 p.m.
The championship game will be 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1.
