Hanover man fell from boat dock June 5

ROME - A body pulled from the Ohio River June 8 near Rome has been identified as that of a Hanover man who fell from a boat dock three days earlier.

Boaters on the Ohio River near Stephensport discovered the body that afternoon and contacted Breckinridge County authorities, including the county's rescue team.

According to a story in the June 11 issue of the Breckinridge County Herald-News, the body was recovered and taken ashore near Addison and turned over to County Coroner Tim Bandy.

The body has been identified as that of 76-year-old Edward M. Beeles, who was reported missing from his home in Hanover.

In an e-mail, Beeles' daughter, Teri Rudelic of St. Louis said her father was tightening the cable on a dock at his home on the Ohio River when he apparently fell in the river.

Funeral services were held Thursday.
