Archers win seventh grade tourney

LEOPOLD - Tell City used strong man-to-man defense to beat Tecumseh 34-13 to win Perry Central's seventh grade girls basketball tourney Saturday.

"They were tall, but our defense was really good," said Tell City Coach Dalonda Hayes. "We held them to six points the first three quarters. Our girls understand help-side defense."

McKenzie Hayes led Tell City, 3-1, with 12 points, 11 rebounds, six blocked shots and four steals.

Hannah Schaefer added five rebounds, four assists and three steals, Brianna Brickey scored six points, and Lacy Briggs made four steals.
