TELL CITY – The Tell City-Perry County Public Library will kick off National Library Week with a special Antiques at Your Library event Saturday.
From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., several local experts will be on hand to display items in the areas of Tell City furniture, Civil War memorabilia, coins, old pictures, pottery, bottles, glassware, western statues and toys. Some of the collectors scheduled to appear are Chris Cail, Mike and Kathy Finley, Michael Highfil, J.R. Flynn, Mark Laflin and Spud and Helen Kleeman.
The public is also invited to bring their own items for the experts to examine. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and is free of charge.
In addition, the Friends will hold a silent auction during National Library Week, Sunday through April 16, at the library. Area residents can bid on a number of items donated by local merchants, including Roland’s Jewelry, William Tell Antiques, VIP Flowers, Celebrations, Mark’s Coins, Finley’s, Skinsations, Gatherings and more. Proceeds will support the Friends group.
