Mr. and Mrs. Albert Peter of Tell City will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, March 2, 2013.
Albert “Bud” Peter and the former Paula Phelps were married at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City March 2, 1963. Their maid of honor was Lynda Delaisse and the best man was James Howe.
They are 1962 graduates of Tell City High School and Oil Township High School. Mr. Peter was with the United States Army from 1962 until 1965 in the United States and Germany. He retired after 36 years as a maintenance mechanic with NSA-Century Aluminum. He has a part-time position in maintenance at St. Paul Catholic Church.
Mrs. Peter was a homemaker at the time of her retirement.
The couple have two children, Tracy Meunier (Matt) of Louisville, Ky., and Todd Peter (Melody) of Tell City. They also have four grandchildren, Austin and Lauren Meunier, both students at University of Louisville, and Kassi and Zach Peter, both students at Tell City Junior-Senior High School.
Mrs. Peter is the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Wroe) Phelps of Tell City and had two brothers, James Paul, who died in infancy and Doug, who died in 2008. Mr. Peter is the son of the late Lawrence and Eva (Howe) Peter of Leopold and has one sister, Ann (Gary) Hay.
The Peters’ children gifted them with a Key West-Bahama cruise in January. Accompanying them were Gary and Ann Hay.
