Tell City Street Department employee Larry Pfeiffer stretches to make a final cut while trimming trees in the 300 block of Main Street Tuesday. Pfeiffer operates the city's sweeper and said regular pruning not only keeps the branches from bothering pedestrians, but lets him sweep up to the curb. New trees will be planted in coming weeks in four blocks of Main Street and according to the architect of a Main Street project, their branches shouldn't pose any problems to walkers or the city's street sweeper.
