TELL CITY – Teresa Kanneberg was the Perry County commissioners’ choice for a new county administrator, Commissioner Gary Dauby said Wednesday.

“I’m eager to get started and look forward to working for and with the commissioners,” Kanneberg said Wednesday, adding that she feels her computer, communications and many other skills will benefit the county.

The commissioners met in executive session Tuesday, then convened a public meeting to make their decision from among two applicants who were willing to work part-time. Dauby said five people applied for the position.

Of those interviewed, “it was close,” he said, “they’re both good people.”

Kanneberg will take on a role fulfilled by Charlotte Rogier until she moved into a position in the treasurer’s office last month. She also served as a part-time assistant to Wayne Hubert, whose role will be converted to full time if the county council follows at their regular meeting today a recommendation made by the commissioners.

Dauby said Kanneberg will be in the administrator’s office in the county courthouse full days Mondays, Wed-nesdays and Fridays, and will work Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons for a total of 28 hours weekly. She will start there Monday.
